GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route SPCA thanks a group of marvellous young ladies who gave the SPCA George an unexpected early Christmas gift on 11 December last year.
Young Emma Martin and her friends wanted to do something special and came up with an idea to have a fundraiser and collect donated goods.
Wendy Jones of the SPCA says they received parcels of blankets, dry and tinned dog food and dog toys and treats.
According to Jones, Emma also handed over a greeting card with over R4 000 inside, inscribed, "We thank you for all that you do for the animals and this money hopefully will help".
Emma and her friends, Isabel Shepherd, Bella van Jaarsveld and Livvy van Jaarsveld, arranged a fun morning at the clubhouse of the Earls Court housing complex. They had a stall selling sweet delights, jewellery, drinks including homemade lemonade, cakes and much more.
They also set up a coffee and tea station for the adults and a jumping castle for the children. The girls were sponsored by Stella's foods, Jimmy's Bakery, Van Rensburg's Market Meats, Eden Juice and Garden Route Jumping Castles.
