GEORGE NEWS - A woman (36) was killed in this morning's car accident in the CBD.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, sgt Chris Spies, preliminary investigation indicates that two vehicles, a Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux bakkie, collided at the traffic lights on the corner of Meade and Albert Streets at approximately 11:00.
"A female passenger [in the Fortuner] sustained injuries and was declared dead by paramedics on the scene. Both drivers and the other two occupants of the Toyota Fortuner were taken to hospital for medical assistance. Circumstances surrounding this incident are being investigated," he said.
According to information received by George Herald, the woman's family was rushing her to hospital as she was suffering from respiratory problems, when the vehicles collided at the traffic light.
