GEORGE NEWS - Thembalethu police are investigating the brutal murder of a 31-year-old woman, Vuyiseke Mpike, who was allegedly stabbed to death by her partner on Saturday 5 November.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, the suspect was arrested shortly after the murder took place in Tabata Street, Zone 8.
The suspect, Malibongwe Matseke (37), appeared for his bail application in the Thembalethu Magistrate's Court on Thursday 17 November where the case was postponed until Wednesday 23 November.
Matseke was remanded in custody and at the time of going to print on Wednesday morning he had not yet made his appearance in court.
According to a family member of the deceased, she died due to the multiple stab wounds inflicted on her after she and the suspect had a domestic altercation.
The deceased was allegedly already in possession of a protection order when she was murdered at her home.
