About 70 people attended with the stars of the show being the AS Level students, who arrived to a special welcome by their 31 IGCSE 2 (Grade 11 equivalent) peers, as well as fami-ly, friends, tutors and staff.
The AS students walked up the long stairway to the venue where they enjoyed a welcome drink and some special never-to-be-forgotten time with their families. Family and friends then departed and all invited guests moved to their set tables. The AS Level students all invited a partner and the 31 IGCSE 2 students could either come alone or together with a partner.
AS student Sarah-Mae Swanepoel sang some songs between courses and Rundle College Headmaster Steve Williams made a very
humorous speech recognising each student by including them into a nursery rhyme with a difference!
During the evening Tristan Davison was announced as head student for 2014. While this was a somewhat belated announcement, due to the newness of Rundle College and the AS Level students, time was taken to get to know the students before the decision was taken to announce a head student for the year. While Steve Williams' speech was a surprise, so too was the student response when they announced some fun awards for each of the tutors and some of the staff members.
The 2014 Rundle College AS Level School Leaver Dinner has set a wonderful base from which future school functions and traditions will grow.
