GEORGE NEWS - The Thusong Service Centre at Waboomskraal received top accolades as first runner-up 2019 for an "Outstanding Satellite" at the 20 years anniversary of the Thusong Service Centre programme.
This annual event is organised by the Government Communication Information Systems (GCIS) and Western Cape Department of Local Government.
Director of Corporate Services Siphiwo James said for George Municipality to being recognised nationally among all municipalities in a top position means we are meeting high standards of service delivery and doing more than is required.
"Our officials can be proud to be counted among the cream of the crop in the country." Portfolio Councillor for Corporate Services Jacqulique von Brandis congratulated centre manager Attie Lewie and client services manager Peter Noble on the achievement.
The officials attended the gala event in September at the Grand West Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town.
