Mark Kell posted a few photos of this spot at the bottom end of Erica Road on the Facebook page 'Georgiete Staan Saam', depicting the remains of their illegal fires, the use of a public place as a toilet and a dead peacock, which he believes might have been killed by the homeless.
"This has been going on for quite a while," said Kell. "They use the wood and plant material on an open plot next to the road to make their fires throughout the winter, but also in summer. They will burn anything, including plastic." Kell is also very concerned for the safety of the wildlife such as the peacocks that are known to roam through that area.
