GEORGE NEWS - In the early hours of Monday morning 15 January, two women from Lawaaikamp were raped in two separate incidents.
According to Conville Police station commander, Colonel Avril Kriga, the first victim (21) and a friend were walking in Vuyani Ncamazana Street when she was forced into a red car.
Her friend managed to escape but the victim was threatened by men with pangas. The suspects took her to a house in Thembalethu where one of them raped her. After the incident they allegedly took her to her own home.

The second victim was walking home when she was approached by three men who offered to accompany her.
When they reached her house in Florence Ntondini Street, the suspects allegedly threatened her with a knife and one of the men proceeded to rape her. No arrests have been made.
