MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A robbery took place last night, 8 April, at 21:00 at Dunkes Organic Equestrian Estate in Dwarsweg, Great Brak.
Great Brak Police spokesperson Sergeant Lauriane Botha said a man and his girlfriend were sitting outside a house in the estate. The man went into the house and a little later his girlfriend went in as well.
As they both came out of the house, five men arrived and made them go back into the house and closed the door after them all.
One of the robbers had a revolver. The robbers asked for cellphones and scratched in cupboard drawers for more items and fled with jewellery and the cellphones, after tying up the complainant and his girlfriend. There were no injuries.
Botha also noted that today, 9 April, at 00:40 there was a robbery in Reebok. A man was sleeping during load-shedding and a suspect came into the house by removing a window in the garage. The man was alerted when his dog made a noise.
He got up and a suspect emerged from a corner and shone a light in his face and fired a shot.
The suspect then went to the kitchen and shot at the man again, but he was not injured. The suspect fled through a window again.
Great Brak Police are investigating a house robbery in the first case and housebreaking and attempted murder in the second case.
Anyone with information which could help police is asked to contact Sergeant Wesley Louw (079 894 1896).
