GEORGE NEWS - As from tomorrow, 1 December, two of the directorates at the George Municipality have new leaders at the helm.
Steven Erasmus, the former Director of Human Settlements, Planning and Development, has been appointed as Director: Protection Services, and Charles Lubbe is the new Director: Human Settlements.
Lubbe will also be acting for the Department of Land Affairs and Planning until Council has taken a resolution in this regard. According to Municipal Spokesperson Chantel Edwards-Klose, candidates for the position of Director: Corporate Services have been shortlisted, and the process will be handled in line with the regulations. Theo Roodman is currently Acting Director: Corporate Services.
The position of Director: Electrotechnical Services was re-advertised and the process will be followed in line with the regulations. Ben August is currently acting as director.
"The relevant report will also be submitted to the minister (Anton Bredell) as per the regulations, with reference to the Director: Human Settlements and Director: Protection Services," said Edwards-Klose.
The directors of the other departments are as follows: Walter Hendricks (Community Services), Keith Jordaan (Financial Services) and Reggie Wesso (Civil and Technical Services).
