GEORGE NEWS - The driver of a truck from Baleka Freight, a Cape Town-based company, had to reverse 1,5 km on 23 November, from the Silver River Bridge back in the direction of Wilderness until he found a place where he could make a U-turn.
The driver’s GPS once again sent him in that direction, over the Seven Passes Road, after a pickup of produce at one of the farms on the road.
“Luckily we had a very experienced driver,” said LC Steyn, operation manager of Baleka Freight. Steyn said the driver had no idea what difficulties were lying ahead when he headed off in the direction of George.
