GEORGE NEWS - The George Music Society is very excited to announce that the Young Musicians Competition will take place again after two long years.
This competition, which was started in 1985, has given many a now successful and professional musician their first taste of the pleasure and challenge that performing to a discerning audience brings.
Any musician of school-going age is invited to enter this prestigious competition, one of the highlights the music calendar of George.
Auditions for the competition will take place on Monday and Tuesday, 23 and 24 May, at the Dotsure George Arts Theatre in York Street where highly experienced and professional adjudicators will be judging the participants.
Each entrant will receive a time when they must perform in advance.
On Thursday 9 June a gala evening will take place at the Dotsure George Arts Theatre where the invited musicians will perform and the winners will be announced and receive their prizes.

Closing date for all entries is 9 May.
