GEORGE NEWS - We're a week nearer to the wildest winter's day on the Garden Route.
On 27 July, individuals, teams, and even whole companies will take off their cosy winter kit, put their bathing suits on, and go for a swim in the icy ocean at Victoria Bay on the Garden Route for the fourth annual Polar Bear Plunge hosted by dotsure.co.za.
But why get into the water at the coldest time of year? To appreciate that you have a warm, dry home - many pets and people do not enjoy this luxury each winter. The Plunge pulls us together in the spirit of compassion and generosity AND raises blankets.
The exciting community event's proceeds will provide less fortunate people and pets with warmth this winter.
We dare all local businesses and individuals to shiver, shake and show what it takes. Entering is easy. Simply head to www.dotsure.co.za/pbp.
The cosy blankets are also pouring in like waves. We have already collected 150 blankets, and counting.
Got a blanket to donate? Gather as many as you can and either bring them with you to the Plunge, leave them with us at 117A York Street or e-mail jessica@aramex.co.za to collect and deliver them to us FREE. We've challenged the Garden Route to help us gather 1 000 blankets this year!
Together, we can make a difference to the lives of many.
