GEORGE NEWS - Every Sunday, homeless people from George can look forward to a wholesome, warm, plated meal.
Whether the sun is shining or the rain is pouring down, Buddy Nisbet, an elder from the Eden Seventh-day Adventist church, and his team of volunteers, put up their table in Hibernia Street and dish out plate after plate.
"This project, now called Feed the Homeless, was started by our church in October last year. Every Sunday we have something different prepared for them and sometimes we feed more than 150 people in a morning. No one is turned down or leaves without food," says Nisbet.

But, to continue their work they need funds and donations towards the project.
"We appeal to the community of George, to those who find it in their hearts to help us, to assist with cash or food donations. We are currently funding the project from our own pockets and without assistance we won't be able to carry on.

"For many of these people, the food we hand out on Sundays is the only proper meal they received all week."
Anyone who is willing to assist is welcome to phone Nisbet on 073 000 5857.
