GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - Cars coming down Mitchell Street just after 09:00 on Monday morning hooted and pedestrians stopped to watch as the 20-odd staff members of Uniforms of George danced to the hit song Jerusalema outside their building.
The performance was a challenge from Uniforms of George to other businesses in the George area to do the same, spreading some joy and happiness in this Covid-struck time.
"Let's bring the energy and create hope for those that don't see a future after lockdown," said the organiser, Tracy Hunter.
A few weeks ago she suggested to the owner of the business, Sine Strydom, that the staff practise the dance together as a mood booster. Strydom agreed and feet started tapping.
Audio Worx, a sound company just across the street, joined the party and supplied the music.
"We dedicate this challenge to all the families that have lost loved ones and to all those who have survived Covid-19," said Strydom.

She said the song gives hope to people. "It creates unstoppable energy and gives hope to people who feel life is over. A spark of happiness in a time when many companies are going through difficult times and some have to close their doors."
