GEORGE NEWS - Garden Route Mall's exciting trolley dash competition during the month of September is coming to an end this coming Friday (30th) when the last winner will have the chance to win a spend of up to R10 000 in 60 seconds. It can be in any shop in the mall.
Two lucky winners have completed their trolley dashes. Mall marketing manager Tumi Masango said the competition was held for the first time last year and it is back by popular demand. It has drawn great interest with hundreds of entries so far.
To register for the competition, members of the public must Telegram the words 'Garden Route Mall' and their name and town to 0617 940 940 (data rates apply), or send it per SMS to 41851 at R1,50 per SMS.
Entrants should stay tuned to Algoa FM as they can get a call from Lance du Plessis, presenter of The Drive, with five questions about the mall. The first one who answers all five correctly, will win the last trolley dash.
Last Friday, 22 September, two winners from George made a dash through Woolworths for their R10 000 shopping spree. Abby du Toit had planned her dash through the right aisles very well and was pleased afterwards that she had managed to pack in what she had hoped for.
The mall is her shopping place of choice, so she found the questions she had to answer easy, she said.
The other winner, Gus Burgess, also from George, was accompanied by his wife and three children for support and to help him decide on what he should grab in his 60 seconds. Burgess said he happened to listen to the radio when he heard about the competition.
"I thought why not, and entered via Telegram. I forgot about it and it was a big surprise when I got a call from Algoa FM. The questions were easy and I was very happy to win."
