GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - A wildfire at Buffelsnek that started yesterday, is currently under control and mopping-up operations are underway.
There has been no loss of human life or infrastructure.
According to the Emergency Call Centre of Garden Route DM, the backburns of last night and the early hours of this morning were successful.
Weather conditions at the moment are favourable for the scene to be contained but teams will continue to monitor the area as the temperature rises.
A Recce flight will be conducted this morning to confirm that all the firelines are contained.
Garden Route District Municipality Fire & Rescue, Bitou Fire, PG Bison and MTO are on the scene.
