GEORGE NEWS - The Eden Lions Club assists the local community with critical needs, and more so during this time of the pandemic. One area of need that does not go unnoticed is the caring of animals by our much-loved rescue societies.
Carl van Blerk of the Eden Lions said Andrea Rothner of the organisation delivered some much-needed cat food to the Cat Assistance Team (Cat) Garden Route recently.
The team at Cat works to alleviate the suffering of the many cats on the Garden Route, both owned and feral. Unfortunately, many animals in poor environments don't have access to adequate food or any veterinary care and, most importantly, sterilisation.
The Cat team believes that sterilisation is the key to creating a happier and healthier cat population.
The Eden Lions are proud to be of assistance to this amazing team. "We will continue to support as resources became available," said Van Blerk.
