GEORGE NEWS - The Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Thembi Siweya (MP), launched the brand-new, state-of- the-art studios at Heartbeat FM in George on Friday 3 February.
In her keynote address, Siweya congratulated Heartbeat FM for never giving up on applying for funding, being patient and compliant, and said it was now reaping the benefits of having faith in their brand.
She also acknowledged the businesses in George that advertise with Heartbeat FM whenever they have information to communicate to the community of George and the Garden Route District Municipality.
Siweya also urged corporate communicators to always set aside budget to advertise on community media platforms, as that is what keeps them sustainable.

The well-attended studio launch was also supported by the mayor of the Eden District, Memory Booysen.
He thanked the MDDA for funding Heartbeat FM, a station that has put the city of George on the map.
Heartbeat FM founder and managing director Avril Ahrends thanked the Presidency and the MDDA for investing in the community of George, the Garden Route District Municipality and the Western Cape.
