SEDGEFIELD NEWS - Police have had to widen the search area in their efforts to find missing Alecia Esterhuizen, after she was recently spotted in Thembalethu in George.
Esterhuizen was seen on Monday 4 December, near Cloud Nine in Sedgefield, whereafter she was reported missing. Police then set up a search party to ascertain her whereabouts.
Little did they know however that they would soon need to expand their search area as she was soon thereafter seen in Thembalethu in George.
This according to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, who also indicated that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance are still being investigated.
"The woman is believed to be in her late twenties. She was dressed in a black jeans and black shoes at the time of her disappearance," he said.
In addition, Spies said a man seen with Esterhuizen prior to her disappearance has been taken into custody for a matter "unrelated to her disappearance".
Warrant Officer James Visagie, the investigating officer, urges anyone with information to contact the police. Anyone with information may contact him at 044 302 6652 or 079 894 1609.
