GEORGE NEWS - Two accused, Jhrlique Olkers (30) and Mariano Danster (25), appeared in the George Magistrate’s Court earlier today, Monday 7 August, in connection with the missing Daywin Jonas (26).
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sgt Chris Spies, intricate investigation led police to premises in Pacaltsdorp and Thembalethu on Thursday 3 August, where two vehicles as well as parts were recovered.
One of the vehicles was later positively identified as Jonas’ vehicle. The other vehicle, a black Volkswagen Golf, was reported as stolen in Caledon during June 2022.
“The process to identify a body that was found along the N9 outside Uniondale on 27 July is currently underway,” said Spies.
Both accused are facing charges of murder, forgery, possession of stolen property and fraud. They were remanded in custody and the matter postponed to 31 August for bail.
Investigation into the matter continues.
