GEORGE NEWS - A murder docket was opened after police responded to a scene at Rissie Close, Pacaltsdorp on Saturday 29 April at about 19:25.
On arrival they found the body of Randall Jansen (49) with a stab wound to the body.
It is alleged that the victim intervened in an argument between a man and woman when he sustained the stab wound. He was declared dead by paramedics on the scene.
The woman also sustained injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of her injuries is yet to be determined.
Pacaltsdorp Police arrested a 35-year-old suspect on a murder charge. The suspect is in police custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, Tuesday 2 May.
Circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation and more charges could be opened as the investigation unfolds.
A post-mortem to determine the cause of death will be conducted during the week.
