GEORGE NEWS - Senior Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) firefighting champ, Emile Conrad, has been placed 10th in the world and second in his age category at this year's International Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) Championship.
The championship is the main event in the World Firefighters Games, which is held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 30 April to 7 May.
This year Conrad, who has won the men's individual category of the SA TFA competition five consecutive years up until 2019, was the only person from George competing in the TFA event, which took place on Tuesday 3 May.
