GEORGE NEWS - Mrs SA 2021 semi-finalist, Nicole Stephens, has joined hands with the local non-profit organisation God Cares International (GCI) for their annual blanket run. Stephens recently visited the staff of God Cares and spent some time with the children of Syferfontein.
"The blanket run is an initiative to get blankets for the community members of Syferfontein. They have the bare minimum and this will really help to keep these families warm through the winter," says Stephens.
"Depending on how many blankets we are fortunate to receive from our community, we will also be able to help other less fortunate families."
Stephens says the dream and vision of GCI is to one day, by God's grace, have its own safe house for victims of abuse, gender-based violence and abandonment.
If you would like to assist GCI and Stephens with the blanket drive, which runs from 1 June to 31 July, you can make blanket donations at the drop-off point at Heather Park Spar or 37 Lynx Street, Dellville Park in Pacaltsdorp.
For more information contact Stephens on 076 118 5184 or GCI founder, Debbie Pijoos, on 072 301 9767.
