GEORGE NEWS - Vacationers planning to enjoy cheerful summer afternoons at the Herold's Bay beach will be able to enjoy every moment in the waves, knowing the lifeguards are alert and equipped for anything that may go wrong.
In preparation for the upcoming season, current Herold's Bay lifeguards underwent a test on Saturday 4 November at the beach to determine their capability.

Each lifeguard had to complete the test in less than 10 minutes to remain serving on the lifeguard team.
Lifeguard instructor Irene Newell, who facilitated the test, said she is confident that the lifeguards will deliver and be alert during the holidays.
"We are ready to save lives and prevent fatal incidents from occurring during the festive season."
According to Corné Calitz, crew leader and instructor, Herold's Bay is a family beach.
"Law enforcement, the police, lifeguards and the public are working together in unity to keep the beach safe."
