GEORGE NEWS - At the general meeting of U3A on Wednesday 25 September, David Hilton-Barber will deliver a lecture titled "Robert Hart, the first English speaking South African".
Born in Grahamstown, David Hilton-Barber is a fourth generation South African. Following in the footsteps of his maternal great-grandfather, Frederick Your St Leger, he trained as a journalist, and later changed to a career as a public relations consultant.
He was involved in a wide range of public relations programmes for the public and private sector including lecturing and contributing to the compilation of the communications course at the University of South Africa.
He is an Associate Member of the Professional Editors Guild.
The venue is Emmaüs in Memorium Street. Tea at 10:00 and the lecture starts at 10:30. Entrance is R5 for members and R120 for visitors.
