GEORGE NEWS - An open day to dispose of hazardous waste will be held by George Municipality on Friday 25 November from 08:00 - 15:00 at the Outeniqua Stadium parking area in Augusta Street.
Bring the items you wish to dispose of in a strong box, preferably in their original, labelled containers. Do not mix products together.
The following items will be accepted:
motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid, used antifreeze, paint, paint thinner, turpentine, pesticides and herbicides, household batteries, CRTs, old televisions, miscellaneous electronics, tyres, fluorescent tubes and globes, household medical waste (needles and old medicine and tablets).
The following products will not be accepted:
explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials and controlled substances.
