GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - 'Making the Garden Route more attractive to local and international film makers' will be the topic of John de Vries, award-winning film maker from Cape Town, who will be speaking at the annual general meeting of the Garden Route Film Office on Tuesday, 26 November.

De Vries's dad, Philip, chairman of the Garden Route Film Office in George, said John has recently spent six months in Hollywood and he has three filming projects from there that he would like to bring to the Garden Route. John will be giving his take on what is needed to get film makers here.
Philip will deliver his annual report and a board will be elected from nominations that have already been submitted. He said strict criteria have been put in place for candidates.
Philip will also talk in short on the Sallywood precinct being planned as part of the proposed Destiny Africa development in George east of the Garden Route Mall. The developers envision that Sallywood will include film studios and a creative university.
