GEORGE NEWS - A fire started at the Landfill site last night, Monday 1 August and it is just smouldering at the moment.
The fire has long been extinguished and is currently being covered with topsoil.
The position where the fire emanates from is awkwardly positioned against the slope and cannot be reached effectively.
It does however not pose any risks or dangers and dumping, and operations continue normally.
