MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Officers of the Mossel Bay Police Station are still searching for the suspect who escaped from lawful custody, yesterday, Saturday 30 July, from the holding cells at the police station.
"The alleged incident happened between 17:00 and 17:55," police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie said.
The wanted escapee, Rudewayne Melvin (Botha), was incarcerated for shoplifting and is known to police. His arrest is imminent, pending investigation surrounding the circumstances of his escape, Pojie said.
Police have also instituted a departmental investigation to run parallel to the criminal case, Pojie noted.
