GEORGE NEWS -The first George Business Chamber network evening hosted by BMW George at their showroom in Glaze Street on Thursday 24 February, turned out to be a crackin’ event.
Guests were treated to a feast of electric eye candy, speeches were short, and the eats and drinks also hit the spot.

Pre-owned Vehicles Sales Manager BMW George Garth van Tonder introduced new BMW George Dealer Principle Leon Bodenstein to the 100+ business people in attendance, and also showcased the impressive new electric BMW iX 50 and electric Mini, drawing gasps of admiration from the crowd.
Addressing the audience Bodenstein revealed that BMW George will be relocating to premises opposite the mall within the next year. “We are excited about the move that will see separate facilities for BMWi, BMW Motorrad, Mini and BMW M series. We are proud of our electrical cars and when it comes to sustainability, BMW leads the way. As you will see in the iX50, the attention to detail is something to behold.
The leather seats are not animal derived but made of plant leather. With a range of 630km, the iX 50 can easily make it to Cape Town and the iX 40 can do 430 km – leaps and bounds ahead of other electric vehicles available in South Africa.”

Chamber Vice-chair/AHI Chair Dr Willie Cilliers asked chamber members to assist the chamber to reward service excellence by notifying the chamber about people and businesses who go the extra mile to please customers and clients.
He urged estate agents and developers to partake in George Mayor Leon van Wyk’s open mike discussion on 3 March – the perfect platform to air concerns and needs.
The chamber’s corporate golf day is on 24 June at Fancourt and Cilliers asked businesses to support this important fundraiser.
Cilliers expressed his sympathy with the staff of BMW George as the dealership was hard-hit by Covid-19 losing its former dealer principle, Raymond Botha and two other employees, Stanley Williams and John Baloyi, to the virus in December 2020. A number of employees contracted Covid-19 at the time and quite a few were hospitalised.
