A total of 108 children at Geelhoutboom School, Lancewood School and Sonskynvallei Crèche, were given a cooked meal. The food provided was sourced from Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa and funded by the Lions Feed Me Campaign. Apart from this, each child was also given a food pack to take home, as well as their very own colourful 'Feed Me' plate.
In total, 1 620 meals were handed out. The Eden Lions mascot, Melvin the lion, was there to entertain the children.
The Eden Lions Feed Me Campaign works by selling durable plastic plates to members of the public and businesses.
The proceeds of these plates are ploughed directly into food relief programmes. The next time you see the Eden Lions at a shopping centre waving these colourful plates, please support this worthy cause by buying a plate or two at only R10 each.
