GEORGE | OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Three suspects were arrested in George this afternoon following a cash in transit heist in Oudtshoorn earlier today, Monday 19 July.
According to George Herald's sister newspaper, Oudtshoorn Courant, a Fidelity Cash Solutions vehicle transporting cash was ambushed at the Atlantic Oil filling station opposite the Bridgton Police Station in Oudtshoorn and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Eyewitnesses saw three men wearing balaclavas getting out of a Toyota Conquest and overpowering the guards delivering money at the filling station’s FNB ATM.
Southern Cape police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, has confirmed that three suspects have been arrested less than an hour ago at the Blanco turn-off to George.
