GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality Fire Department, with support from Garden Route District Fire Department, will be doing controlled burns this week in preparation of the upcoming summer fire season.

Municipal controlled burns will take place today, Monday 11 October, tomorrow and Wednesday from about 11:00 each morning in the vegetated area north and northwest of the Denneoord emergency firefighting airbase.

Firefighters remain on site during controlled burns.
