GEORGE NEWS - The RasTafari community of George will be hosting a three-day arts and culture festival from 27 to 29 May at the Malgas River lapa in the Witfontein Nature Reserve.
This will be the sixth annual Africa Day Festival celebration by the RasTafari community of George.
The arts and culture festival is centered around music and boasts a line-up of global, national and local acts. George stars on the line-up include Hakkiesdraad and Ego Nege.
The festival, supported by George Tourism, fosters community knowledge and development. It is a highlight on the local tourism calendar and brings many guests to George.
Attendees can camp at the venue, but guests can also use local hospitality venues after and before the concerts at the festival. Africa Day is a public holiday in various African countries, including Namibia and Zimbabwe.
It commemorates the founding of the African Union in Addis Abbaba, Ethiopia, on 25 May 1963 after a conference of independent African states.
