Update
GEORGE NEWS - A case of animal cruelty has been opened against the owners of the two dogs that were involved in an organised dog fight in Maraiskamp last week.
The injured dogs were confiscated by the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) following reports of a fight on Tuesday afternoon, 8 November.
The dog fighters were busted after a horrific video of the fight, that took place in broad daylight in Makriel Street, was sent to GRSPCA.
Inspectors Salomé Bruyns, Estelanie van Wyk and Henrico Pypers immediately went to the scene and started looking for the alleged perpetrators linked to the fight.
Mere hours later they were hunted down by the dedicated team of the SPCA inspectorate in two separate houses in the area.
The dogs were confiscated and treated for their injuries, and are being kept safe at the GRSPCA.
The SPCA can be reached for emergencies on 082 378 7384.
Judging from the scars on her body and face, it is clear that this poor girl has seen more than her fair share of fights.
