GEORGE NEWS - Binah will host its fifth annual family fun walk in November in celebration of National Disability Rights Awareness Month.
South Africa celebrates National Disability Rights Awareness Month annually from 3 November to 3 December.
3 December is International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and is also celebrated as National Disability Rights Awareness Day.
Disability is the consequence of an impairment that may be physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental, or some combination of these. A disability may be present from birth, or occur during a person's lifetime.
Disability Awareness Month offers an opportunity for all of us to remove these barriers and to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities through concrete action. This event is much loved by the public and families travel from as far as Cape Town, Mossel Bay, Plett and Knysna to support the cause and raise awareness.
The fun walk will be held at 16:00 on Sunday 13 November at the Garden Route Botanical Garden. Contact Mariza on binahnpo@gmail.com for more information on the event.
Families come from far and wide to take part and raise awareness for families living with children with disability needs.
