Please refer to the attached documents for more detail regarding the TRANSPORT PLAN for all areas in George, in which the dates and times are provided when buses will pick up patients who are unable to afford proper medical treatment and take them to the Phelophepa Train, as well as the SERVICES OFFERED at the train.

George Municipality, the Transnet Foundation and the Phelophepa Health Care Train intend to involve and empower the community during the time that the train and staff will occupy the local station.
Transnet Foundation and its strategic stakeholders bring the following services to the community of George:
Basic medical services at low cost
Empowerment to the community through Outreach & Empowerment Programmes such as the Teenage Health Programme (Empowerment to female learners using menstruation as focus topic)
Edu-clinic (free basic introduction to nursing & health care/interest training for 16 volunteers in each community/ Certificate awarded upon completion of Programme)
Adult Outreach Programmes at Correctional facilities, NGO’s, Old Age Homes, Homes for teenagers, Home for struggling mothers etc. (These programmes aim to identify the issues faced by the people living in these homes. Focus areas include: Drug & Substance abuse/Building Happy and Healthy Relationships/ HIV&AIDS/ Career guidance/ Goal setting& motivation/ Leadership/ Rape etc.
These services and programmes serve to empower the people of the community by targeting focus areas that are overflowing with certain issues and thus overpopulate the services already in place.
