GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Team of Herold's Bay invites the public to donate any indigenous tree in a pot and join them in a tree planting project this Saturday, 5 October.
The planting will take place at the Rus 'n Bietjie Garden at the circle on Rooidraai Road, Herold's Bay Heights, where Andries Smit is the chief gardener.
Members of the team will be there to help participants plant their tree in prepared holes with bonemeal and compost. Arrival time is any time between 09:00 and 11:00.
"This could be your tree or your family's tree for a lifetime. Help slow the effects of global warming and preserve our natural green heritage," says Mel Walton, a Garden Team member.
