GEORGE NEWS - On Saturday and Sunday, 1 and 2 April, the George Chess Club, in conjunction with the Garden Route Mall, invited the public to play blitz games against the club members in the Mall. Both events were a huge success! It was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all present.
According to club chairperson Lionel Campbell, these two days focused mainly on chess as a fun activity. "Our aim is not only to promote chess among all ages, but also to create a family-friendly event where people relax and have fun.
"At the same time, chess bridges are built for people to walk on in future."
The George Chess Club wishes to thank the Garden Route Mall, especially Tumi Masango and Helga Jansen, all shops and restaurants that sponsored lucky draw prizes, Co Create Media, George Chess Club members and the public for fantastic support.
