GEORGE NEWS - Members of the Southern Cape Public Order Police (Pops) arrested a man who was in possession of a substantial amount of dagga found in a container at a barbershop in Tabatha Street, Thembalethu, on Friday evening, 24 June.
The officers then proceeded to the housing structure that is also on the premises where they detected a strong dagga odour. The smell led them to a bedroom in the house which they had to enter using force as the occupant refused them entry.
"They then discovered a larger amount of high grade dagga which the occupant was busy processing and wrapping into compressed vacuum packs believed to be for redistribution," said Southern Cape police spokesperson Capt Malcolm Pojie.
Four suspects aged 52, 33, 26 and 22, were arrested and charged with illegal dealing in drugs. All four suspects are scheduled to appear in the Thembalethu Magistrate's Court today, Monday 27 June.
