GEORGE NEWS – The George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) is appealing to the Thembalethu community to urgently assist in finding the missing 7-year old autistic child with special needs, Devine Kafelaanthu who was reported missing by his father yesterday, Thursday 8 April.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, it is believed that Devine was last seen yesterday at about at 13:30 when he was playing near 25 Masanga Street, Bangalo in Zone 1.
“According to other children, Devine later walked in Schaap Street, towards LTA. He was wearing a green camouflage top with a grey denim and blue takkies,” said Pojie.
A search party comprising of FCS investigators, Thembalethu police officers and community members was immediately launched, but had to be called off just after midnight.
The search was resumed early today and expanded as far as the Victoria Bay coastline. Pamphlets have also been distributed but there has been no sign of the boy.
