GEORGE NEWS - Various police units are on the scene at Thembalethu Square where security guards were robbed at gunpoint while delivering money to a local business.
According to information gathered at the scene, armed robbers accosted one of the guards outside the vehicle and threatened him at gunpoint, after which they took several bags of cash.
They also disarmed the guard and made off with his firearm.
Several warning shots were also fired by the robbers before they fled in the direction of Zone 9.
Police are maintaining a high visible presence in the area while the manhunt for the suspects continues.
