Winner Junior Open - 'Flowing beauty' - Scott Ormerod
This photo was taken at the Arts Theatre, where ballet teacher Alvinia Roux held a rehearsal with her amazing students. I set out to capture the movement of the dancers. I used rear curtain flash and a slow shutter speed to both capture the movement and freeze the action. Canon EOS 5D Mark II, f-stop: f 22, exposure: 2 sec, iso: 100, focal length: 50mm.
Winner Junior Nature - 'Meeu'- Zenobia Geldenhuys
"Meeu" was taken from a cruise ship in a harbour. I was standing on the top deck and these seagulls were flying all around. Thought I would practise a bit on bird photography. I took about 50 pictures at different settings with my Canon 70D. I got this lucky shot on AV: f 9, iso: 1 000, exposure: 1/30 sec, focal length: 87mm.
Winner Senior Open - 'Girl with flowers'- Amanda le Roux
Die foto is geneem met my Canon 5D Merk 111. Ek het 2 studio ligte gebruik en een heel links en een heel regs van die model geplaas. Die foto is geïnspireer deur 'n skildery van Lee Bogle.
Winner Senior Nature - 'Alert' - Schalk Engelbrecht
The photo of the leopard was taken on an early morning safari in the Sabie Sands reserve. Early morning light and the bush background made for a good photo opportunity. Taken with Canon 7D and 400mm telephoto lens.
Winner Theme - 'Near Loxton'- Beverley du Raan
On a road trip through the Karoo in 2014, between Loxton and Fraserburg, I came across this wonderful example of South African humour.
Camera: Pentax *istD, exposure: 1/800 sec, AV: f 11, focal lenth: 28mm.
