GEORGE NEWS - A man from Wilderness, who is allegedly known in the area as a notorious thief, was apprehended by Wilderness Defence Force (WDF) on Tuesday 5 December after he allegedly stole money from a house he had broken into.
"The WDF team received an urgent message through our incidents group concerning a notorious thief, known for his criminal activities, who had stolen R4 800 from a house in Wilderness Heights," said WDF's Shannon Hilligenn.
With WDF's arrival at the premises, the owner briefed them on the suspect's whereabouts after which he was apprehended at a premises nearby.
"The officers detained the suspect until the police arrived on the scene," said Hilligenn.
Police searched the suspect and found dagga, an Okapi knife and some stolen property in his possession and arrested the suspect.
