Hy sou Vrydag vir die mense van die Klein-Karoo kom bid het en het gesê: "I am coming to Oudtshoorn believing in a miracle" met verwysing na die epidemie van voël-griep (H5N2) en die teisterende droogte wat die volstruisbedryf en die landbou in die streek lamgelê het.
Sowat 2 000 mense van Oudtshoorn en omstreke het reeds van vroeg af vir die byeenkoms by die REC vergader.
"Angus sal nie meer hier kan wees nie, daar is ‘n probleem met ys op die vliegtuig en hulle moes in Durban gaan land," het sanger Joe Niemand aangekondig.
Die vliegtuig moes volgens Niemand na ‘n nagmerrie-vlug omdraai.
"Hy is hartgebroke want hy bid al lank vir Oudtshoorn," het Niemand aan die skare gesê.
Oudtshoorn Courant, susterkoerant van die George Herald, het vroeër berig dat weens die krisis in die volstruisbedryf, die hele streek se mense swaarkry.
Een van die organiseerders, Callie Wannenburg, het gesê dat dit die tydsberekening van Bychan se besoek ideaal sou maak om vir verligting te bid.
Die diens het soos beplan, voortgegaan maar die mense wat teenwoordig was, het hul teleurstelling uitgespreek.
Lindie Gouws het die skare wel toegespreek en die mense vermaan dat hulle ander afgode moet neerlê. Sy het gesê die moeilike tye is ‘n beproewing wat met geduld aanvaar moet
word en dat Oudtshoorn sterker "as ‘n suiwer diamant" deur die beproewing sal kom.
Gouws is aan die mense voorgestel as "een van Oom Angus se dogters".

In response to your e-mail just received I would be very honoured if you could convey the following message to the people of Oudtshoorn.
I am terribly sorry that I was unable to attend the meeting, but as I am sure you already know, this was due to extremely dangerous weather conditions, which blew up unexpectedly.
We were flying for 1 hour and 20 minutes and the turbulence and icy conditions forced us to redirect our flight back to King Shaka International Airport in Durban for an emergency landing. I have never experienced a trip like it in my life before and I have been flying for over 30 years!
However, I am so pleased to have received such good reports regarding the meeting and especially how God used Joe Niemand, Julius Magan and Lindie Gouws to bring the message of hope to Oudtshoorn.
I would be most honoured to come to Oudtshoorn at a later date and would be more than happy to fly with a national airline, as you asked, in order to avoid another cancellation. The only reason we tried to fly in a private aircraft, was because I had to be back for an appointment booked months earlier for the following morning in Pietermaritzburg. With a national airline I couldn’t get back the same day.
My heart is with the farmers and I have a deep desire to encourage the farmers of the ostrich industry to keep going because God will never fail his people.
