GEORGE NEWS - Four children were hospitalised after a near-drowning during an outing at Herold's Bay this morning, 28 October.
According to ER24 communications officer, Russel Meiring, paramedics arrived on scene to find the children already on the beach.
Unconfirmed information indicates that the children got into trouble due to a strong current in the water near the rocks at the tidal pool.
When paramedics arrived on the scene the children were all ready brought to safety.
"Their teachers were found providing the children with first aid. Medics assessed the two girls and two boys, aged between 10 and 14, and found that one had sustained moderate injuries while the three others had sustained minor injuries," he said.
The children were treated on scene and transported to George Hospital for further assessment and medical care. They are expected to make a full recovery.
Further details surrounding this incident are unclear at this stage.
