GEORGE NEWS - Game has confirmed that their Knysna and George stores were closed earlier today, after an employee at the Knysna store tested positive for Covid-19.
While the employee is from the Knysna store, the George branch was closed as a further precaution.
According to Michelle Kemp, Game's Corporate Reputation Manager, the store in George was closed since the staff member who tested positive in Knysna recently visited the store in George.
"There are currently no reported Covid-19 cases in the George store. We have also engaged a professional cleaning company to deep clean the store in George, which will be re-opened when it is safe to do so," she said.
According to Garden Route Mall manager, Rion Olivier, all actions in line with agreed protocols have been implemented by them and Game.
"We are investigating the matter with the tenant and will release further information as it becomes available. There are currently no active cases at the mall. In the interim centre management would like to assure our customers and shoppers that every precaution has been taken to keep our valued community safe. Stringent hygiene and cleaning measures are actively adopted throughout the centre in keep with the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations," he said.
