GEORGE NEWS - George detectives are investigating a house robbery that occurred on Friday 5 September at a farmhouse along Airport Road, George.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, an 83-year-old man was found this afternoon, Saturday 6 September, by a neighbour with his hands tied.
"Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim left his residence at about 18:00 on Friday, and upon his return, encountered a man and a woman inside his bedroom.
"The suspects assaulted him, tied his hands, and packed groceries and personal items before fleeing the scene," says Spies.
The victim sustained injuries to his body and was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
At this stage, it is not yet clear what items were stolen. The suspects remain at large, and a search is underway.
The investigation officer, Warrant Officer Siphokazi Nonjiwe, has urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants.
