GEORGE NEWS - A Dutch couple on holiday in the Garden Route, became the latest victims of a mugging when they were threatened at gunpoint and robbed on Sunday evening near the Map of Africa viewpoint in Wilderness.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies, the couple were on their way back to their vehicle when two men armed with firearms approached them at about 17:45.
"The men threatened them and demanded their cell phones as well as wallets. The suspects took an iPhone, a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and two wallets," says Spies.
Before fleeing the scene, the suspects slashed the tyres of the couple's car and drove off in a white Toyota Yaris.
A robbery case was opened and the suspects are still at large.
