GEORGE NEWS - Pienaar Street between Rosemoor and Conville was cordoned off for some time late this afternoon, 26 September, after police arrested three men on suspicion of criminal activity.
Sgt Chris Spies, the Southern Cape police spokesperson, confirmed the arrests, adding that they cannot give more information at this stage as the investigation is at a sensitive stage.
Spies refuted rumours on social media stating that the arrests involve the kidnapping of children.
Police also confiscated an undisclosed amount of cash.
Many residents gathered around the scene as police officers conducted a search of the vehicle the men were driving. Workers heading home also stopped along the way to watch the scene.
